《可爱的家》这首歌本是比肖普（H.R.Bishop1786-1855）的歌剧《克拉里—米兰姑娘》中的一首主题歌，如今歌剧已经被人遗忘。歌曲采用英国西西里尼民歌的音调写成的。帕蒂(A. Patti)等几位世界著名的歌唱家在演出结束的时候，听众总是再三要求他们加唱《可爱的家》才肯散场。
